Thalia Associates is seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Accountant with strong expertise in Odoo ERP to support accounting, tax, and financial advisory engagements for a diverse client portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end accounting processes, system-based financial reporting, and compliance, while actively leveraging Odoo to improve efficiency and accuracy.
This role requires a highly organized and results-driven accountant who can manage multiple client engagements while consistently meeting strict reporting and compliance deadlines. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate financial information on time, maintaining high professional standards, and ensuring all statutory and management reports are submitted within required timelines.

Responsibilities
- Maintain complete and accurate accounting records using Odoo ERP.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial statements in accordance with applicable standards.
- Manage tax compliance including VAT, PAYE, SDL, WHT, and other statutory filings.
- Perform bank reconciliations, customer and supplier reconciliations, and general ledger reviews.
- Support audit engagements, respond to audit queries, and prepare supporting schedules.
- Configure and optimize Odoo workflows, charts of accounts, journals, and reporting structures.
- Assist clients with Odoo implementation, data migration, and user support.
- Monitor internal controls, identify risks, and recommend process improvements.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses where required.
- Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and timely delivery of all financial information.
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong practical experience using Odoo ERP (mandatory).
- Solid knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Ability to train clients and internal teams on Odoo accounting workflows and best practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders. Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
- Experience working with multi-company, multi-currency accounting environments and ability to interpret financial data.
- Professional certification (CPA/ACCA or equivalent) is an added advantage.
